IT’S WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY
PLEASE GIVE BLOOD

In the future we will be using this service to alert the general public when the demand for blood is high and our stocks for some blood groups are very low.

The partnership was formed during a blood shortage in January 2007. The Welsh Blood Service was delighted when Neil Mansfield, Product Manager at 118 118 contacted us during this appeal and offered to help by adding a special life-saving message to the text when a customer requested a phone number. These life-saving messages will be sent, with no charge to the Welsh Blood Service.

Neil told us “The decision to support this appeal was an easy one for us to make. It compliments 118 118’s “Here to help’ strategy perfectly. If we can help to save lives whilst offering a great service to our customers then everyone concerned can only benefit from the results”.

Recruitment Manager for the Welsh Blood Service, Trudi Evans said “We are absolutely delighted with the support from the team at 118. To be able to contact so many members of the public at times when we are in greater need for blood is absolutely amazing. This will really make a huge difference to us at difficult times.”
