SWINE FLU - INFORMATION FOR DONORS

We still need to collect blood as normal during this outbreak of Swine Flu. We are therefore asking all blood donors to continue to donate blood as usual.

However, if you are unwell with flu-like symptoms, you should not give blood. Please remain at home and ring NHS Direct Wales or your GP to get further advice.

If you do feel well and meet our normal donor selection rules you can still donate.

Please remember patients still need blood for vital treatments every day, so it is really important that blood donors continue to give blood throughout this period.

As usual, if you have given blood and have become unwell in the two weeks following your donation please ring our helpline as soon as possible on 0800 252 266.

Thank you for your support.
