The Welsh Blood Service ‘Paints the World Red’!

To raise awareness of the importance of regular blood donation the World Health Organisation called upon blood services across the globe to help ‘Paint the World Red’.

The Welsh Blood Service chose a famous landmark in the heart of Cardiff Bay to ‘paint’ red and for one night only the iconic architecture of the Wales Millennium Centre shone red in honour of World Blood Donor Day 2011.

The international theme for World Blood Donor Day 2011 is “More blood. More life.” This theme reinforces the urgent need for more people all over the world to become life-savers by volunteering to donate blood regularly.
